Ventilation

MVHR Systems
Up to 95% Heat Recovery

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery brings fresh, filtered air into your building while retaining up to 95% of the heat that would otherwise be lost. Ideal for new builds and deep retrofits — and fully Part F compliant.

Fresh Air In,
Warmth Retained

An MVHR unit draws stale, humid air from wet rooms — kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas — and passes it through a heat exchanger. Incoming fresh air from outside is pre-warmed by the outgoing air before being distributed to living rooms and bedrooms. The two airstreams never mix, so you get clean air without losing the heat you've already paid for.

  • Up to 95% thermal efficiency — dramatically cuts heating demand
  • Continuous low-level fresh air supply to every habitable room
  • Integrated F7 / ePM1 filters remove pollen, dust and pollutants
  • Eliminates condensation damp and black mould at source
  • Part F Approved Document compliant for new build sign-off
  • Summer bypass mode for free night cooling in warm weather

Why Choose MVHR?

Dramatic Energy Savings

Ventilation heat loss can account for 40–60% of a well-insulated home's heating bill. MVHR slashes this by recovering heat that extract-only systems simply discard, improving your EPC rating and SAP score in the process.

Superior Air Quality

High-grade filters continuously remove airborne allergens, urban particulates and VOCs. Unlike trickle vents, MVHR works even when windows are closed — important in noisy or polluted urban locations across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Moisture & Mould Control

By maintaining a slight positive pressure and continuously diluting humid air from cooking and bathing, MVHR prevents the condensation cycle that leads to black mould — a common problem in modern, well-sealed buildings.

Part F & Building Control Ready

Our commissioning documentation — air flow test results, system schematics and handover packs — is prepared to satisfy Building Control requirements under Part F of the Building Regulations (2021 edition).

New Builds &
Deep Retrofits

MVHR is the ventilation strategy of choice for any building targeting low energy use. It is mandatory under Passivhaus standard and strongly favoured in SAP calculations for homes achieving EPC Band A or B.

  • New residential developments — single dwellings to large apartments
  • Deep retrofit / EnerPHit whole-house upgrades with new fabric
  • Commercial offices requiring BREEAM credits for indoor air quality
  • Schools and nurseries where CO₂ management is essential
  • Heritage buildings where fabric is being improved in stages
  • Replacement of ageing whole-house ventilation systems

Keeping Your System
Running Efficiently

An MVHR system is not fit-and-forget. Filters typically need replacing every 6–12 months depending on local air quality and occupancy. Our maintenance plans keep your unit operating at peak efficiency and protect the manufacturer warranty.

  • Annual service visit with filter replacement and flow-rate check
  • Heat exchanger inspection and cleaning if required
  • Summer bypass and frost protection function testing
  • Commissioning re-verification if layout or occupancy changes
